Tickets for the highly anticipated Tony award-winning musical “The Book of Mormon” has opened and Denverites are flocking en masse to get tickets.
The play was created by “South Park” creators and Colorado natives Matt Stone and Trey Parker. The tickets went on sale this morning at 10 a.m. and phone lines and the website have been clogged. Luckily, I was able to snag two tickets to opening night – after 30 minutes of trying.
The show runs Aug. 14 to Sept. 2 at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. Tickets run $35 to $125. For more information, go to the Denver Center for Performing Arts website. Go fast, tickets are expected to sell out quickly.
And for those of you thinking about going to the box office, The Denver Post‘s Dan Petty, who was standing in line for tickets, tweeted it “may take six hours to get through.”
